Checked out the damage from the storm for the last 48 hours. Amazingly the Snowpack was not completely washed away. We found 90-100cm of snow above 1800m. The Snowpack is moist to the ground all the way up to 1900 m, which was as high as we got. We found the early December surface hoar widespread up to 20mm. We felt whumpfing and cracking in all open terrain. I'm still in disbelief that the surface hoar survived that massive deluge of rain. There is 20 cm of dry snow on top of all the moist snow. Conditions were not nearly as poor as I was expecting when I left my door this morning.
