Blowing and transporting snow 15-20 mph North Westerly winds. Stronger gusts

Snowpack

Cut slopes in short sheltered steeps. Storm slab moved if there was nothing supporting it. i.e. slopes above 35º. Slab was stiff from the wind. Dug a pit before committing to cross the final few hundred meters to the pass. East facing 12,300'. Dense crust at the bottom, two stiff slabs at the top.
