Snowpack
Near treeline on northerly-facing slopes the snowpack is 75-100 cm. Small lenses of stubborn, supportable wind slab can be found on most aspects near treeline, 20-30 centimeters thick. The upper half of the snowpack is four to one-finger hard and is resting on intact 5-7mm surface hoar. The slab is beginning to lose integrity but still produces moderate to hard propagating results with extended column tests, ECTP 18-22, at the surface hoar.
