Warm and sunny, with no visible blowing snow on ridges or peaks. Temperatures were near 40 by the 2:00 near 8500 feet
Snowpack
Roughly 90% of the Highlands ridge side of the Maroon Creek drainage avalanched in early March, with most hitting the valley floor. From the Sievers side, one D3 covered the Maroon Creek road, blocking reasonable snowmobile access above mile marker 7. Several D1.5-2 wet slabs released, likely mid to late last week from rocky, west facing slopes below treeline. Below treeline south and east-facing slopes were soft but still supportive at noon, west facig slopes were just beginning to warm.
