Weather

The most significant weather factor this weekend was the moderate to strong south and southwest winds. Periods of rain and light snow observed on Saturday, but didn't account to much. Clouds moved in and out with periods of sunshine. Very springlike.

Snowpack

Variable riding conditions were experienced throughout the North San Juan zone over the past few days. In the alpine recent winds and warm temperatures have created a chalky surface on shady slopes and a crusty surface on sunny slopes. Near and below treeline the snowpack continues to transition into spring/isothermal pack and the snow was wet and gloppy. Ski penetration was 10-15 cm's. The wind this weekend didn't allow for the surface to soften in the alpine.

Avalanche

Isolated small Wet Loose avalanche were observed on low elevation slopes on Sunday.
