Avalanche
My partner rode skier’s right of a questionable Southwest facing slope on the South side of Loveland pass. He rode to a safe zone and gave me the OK. I rode more to skier’s left of the slope when a decent sized slide cracked almost all the way across the slope, maybe 25 yards across with about a 5 foot crown at the deepest part of the break. It slowly slid behind me as I unknowingly outran it & my partner watched from below. Both of us were safe and there was no movement of the slide by the time I had gotten to my partner. We were equipped with avalanche gear and prepared for the worst outcome.
