Avalanche
Signs of a widespread natural storm slab cycle during the storm in the backcountry, especially on Southerlies. Tempter E Face/Bowl L and the adjacent X Couloir both went natural or AKr. Nellie sunnyside was triggered by a cat and hit Bear Creek. In the area the storm slabs aren’t nearly as reactive as yesterday – no remotes, and fractures weren’t propagating over hundreds of feet with ski (or pole) cuts - but still good results with skis on steep terrain and with larger shots around treeline. 4 Cliffs (W>SW, 10,500’) produced for the second day in a row. Bald 3 (ENE, 11,800) put a D1 debris pile on Galloping Goose. Large shots got good propagation/avalanching on Majestic in Revelation. The skiing is good and everything is buried up here. Have a great night, happy Pi Day!
