Weather

48º F when I arrived at the TH at 9.00. It dropped quickly 36º when I started skiing. 32º when I got back to the car at 2.30. It also started to snow heavily. Sun came out again at 12 then socked back in again. Lots of wind transportation of snow.

Snowpack

I had not been able to go out in over 6 weeks so dug a pit in a wind loaded roll over. There was a considerable number of weak layers with solid slabs above. Snow failed at multiple places. Pit was dug at 11,500ft on a west facing slope.

Avalanche

None seen.
