Winds were light out of the north, skies were clear, the temperature was about 25F, with 30 inches of new snow.

Avalanche

Within a few hundred yards from the parking lot I stepped off the track to see if I could initiate a whumpf. There was a rumbling collapse and my party noticed cracks across the flats. Seconds later we watched an avalanche release on a NW aspect of Carbon Hill at ~11,400ft. SS-ASr-R2D2. 2'x200'x150'
