Snowpack
Dug a pit to show friends how to do it. Measured the snowpack at 225 cm. Analyzed the top 4 feet. Performed an isolated column test (back of column not cut) and extended column test (back of column cut). No failures at the wrist, elbow or shoulder in both tests. Was able to pull off the column to reveal a couple inches of sugary snow, or facets at ~4 feet, but didn't fail on its own when applying pressure to the surface.
Avalanche
Debris from a small slide observed in the chutes above the snow pit, but didn't propagate far outside of the chute. No other signs of instability
