Avalanche

Warning: lots of new snow at cp today, upwards of a foot above 11k. I saw a medium sided avalanche (D2) that propagated almost an entire ridgeline. The avalanche was mostly a soft slab that was formed from the new snow+wind. In some locations where the pack was shallowest the soft slab was able to drop down deeper into the pack breaking at either 11/4-10/26 interface between two hard slabs or at the ground. Avalanche danger is high right now and it will remain high through the weekend until this new load settles. Exercise extreme caution in the backcountry going into the weekend.
