Hankin Maintenance and Observations

Today we went to the Hankin Backcountry ski area. We replaced the battery for the weather station and it is now back online. After this we braved the alpine above the hut and dug a profile to get some information before committing to skiing anything. We found no significant results in our snowpack tests but there are a couple layers that we're watching and the alpine at Hankin is a unique wind loaded facetted area. We avoided thin snowpack areas and skied our 35 degree slope one at a time to reduce our exposure. Great day.
