Core Lodge just before the cold snap

Finally a bit of new snow to play in. Below treeline, 10 cm new snow on a soft damp crust, new snow fairly well stuck to the crust. At treeline (1600 m in a NE facing glade), 15 cm new on a hard 1 cm thick crust. Poor bonding of the new snow to the crust. CTE2 at 15 down on the crust. Temp near freezing, snowing moderately and windy from the SW. The winds switched to strong NE on the drive home at 2 pm.
