Calm winds in the morning giving way to strong winds before sundown with snow off and on all day, observed large amounts of snow transport above treeline, smaller amounts in exposed open areas below treeline.
Snowpack
Skied slopes up to 35 degrees with the following noted: Snow pit at 11,000 QT-23 failing on depth hoar/facets at the ground. Saw propagation test scored high. Shovel tilt test showed new snow not bonding well with old snow. 10in of new snow at and above treeline was sluffing on slopes around 35 degrees. Noticed a couple of soft slab releases below rock bands on north and south terrain, R1-D1. Observed many naturals on the cliff band of gothic mountains east face. Also observed a R2-D2 run on gothic mountains north cirque.
