Weather

Light to moderate winds above treeline. Light winds at treeline. N facing slopes in Butler Gulch between 11,000' and 12,000'

Snowpack

Butler Gulch, N Faces: Sastrugi with not very developed depth hoar above treeline. CT tests in the moderate range with resistant planar and break fractures on the windslab at treeline. No whumphing, collapsing, or shooting cracks observed.

Avalanche

Noticed one old (possibly a few days) R2D2 avalanche on a loaded N slope above treeline (11700') on the ridgeline between Butler Gulch and Jones Pass. Otherwise no activity to note.
