Weather
Some high thin clouds broke to mostly sunny skies by 11am. Light to moderate Westerly wind. Warm flip flop temps in the afternoon.
Snowpack
On a South aspect, Sundays storm snow was fully transitioned on below tree line slopes. This storm snow still holding up at near and above tree line elevations in the form of hot, moist pow by noon and was responsible for the days avalanche problems.
Avalanche
A ski cut at 12:00 on a Easterly aspect at 12,200ft produced a small loose wet avalanche that ran 1200ft down a mostly 40 degree slope and was a D2 by the bottom. Another ski cut around the same time and same elevation, on a South aspect produced a 10cm deep, 30ft across wet slab avalanche. Entertaining what was left of Sundays storm snow. This slab ran 1,000ft and was a D1.5.
