Another hot day out there. S-facing slopes we traversed to reach Surprise Pass were crossed at 11:30 AM and we found the sun had only penetrated 2-3cms into the snow. The big slide path has not gone yet but several wet avalanches have already slid where you make a slight descent on the traverse (gotta love skiing avy debris!). Surprise Pass was hard-packed and 2 of us boot-packed to the top as a result. Ski descent is tracked out up top (moguls), but once the run widens, we found great powder to ski.
