Total depth 0-20" composed of large facets and thin, firm crusts on NW-NE faces no previous snowpack on other aspects. 6-12" of new snow w/drifts to 2'
Avalanche
8-12" soft slab (storm snow) sliding on old 2-3" crust not stepping down to facets below crust. Triggered from nearby grassy knoll. Slope angle was no more than 30°. Skied nearby 15-20° gully with lots of collapsing but no propagation. Also experienced collapsing while skinning out through the lower meadows.
