The weather started as partly cloud but changed to overcast and snow later in the day.
Snowpack
I dug a snowpit and examined snow stability on slope (North?) not far from the Broome hut, probably at an altitude of 11,100-11,200. I dug to an estimated depth of 3-4 feet and noticed slabs not far below the surface and some lower down--the snowpack between the two seemed highly variable. After isolating a block, I jumped on it and a piece of it fell off as soon as I stepped on it, while the majority of the block resisted even the strongest jumps. It's hard to interpret these seemingly contradictory results.
