WEATHER OBSERVED: Frigid Cold, intermittent clouds and sun, orographic snow, no wind

Snowpack

3" new snow. Test results showed poor bonding of the new snow to the old surface. A small surface sluff kicked off in an area of steep terrain that slid previously, entrained entire snowpack and ran 200', scouring to the ground. Overall height of snow ranged from 100-130cm. Mostly F and 4F snow with a thin 1F hard Persistent Slab layer still evident above basal facets. Extended column tests showed no result. No natural avalanche activity seen
