Weather
A mixed bag of cloudy with bands of light snowfall, to occasional thin cover with greenhouse effect to periods of sun breaking thru. Winds were strong at ridge crests with visible snow moving from generally westerly directions (some areas WNW, some WSW).
Snowpack
Plenty of settlement in the recent new snow - spring! Snow showers today added up to maybe an inch. Southerly aspects sporting a 1.5cm breakable crust. East aspects also had a well developed crust and suspect the same for west. Noted RR grains on crusts - might disappear with bit of sunshine, but this may bear watching with next load. Low angle / flat terrain had also developed a thin mf crust - higher sun angle. Northerly below treeline aspects were lovely deep dry powder and only one shallow surface sluff on steepest terrain. Noted deeper drifts on treeline northerlies behind ridge crests or catchments.
