Trying to snow along the peaks, with little success

Not much to add to what observations have noted near and above treeline. Below TL I was a bit surprised by the overall weak structure of the snowpack in shaded areas. Boot penetration 30 cm but pretty easy to crash through the weak depth hoar to the ground.
