Weather

Beautiful and HOT day in the mountains. Clear skies with just an occasional puffy cloud to provide some contrast. Decent west winds almost merited putting on a jacket above treeline.

Snowpack

Trace of new snow sitting on top of stout crusts on any slope that gets even a little bit of sun. Snow was wet ~4 inches down on an east facing slope at treeline around 12pm. Snow was wet to the ground around some rocks on an east aspect below treeline a few minutes later. Serious roller-balling, but couldn't quite get any Loose Wet slides to move on roll overs. Melt water production was really getting going. North and northeast facing slopes were still totally dry. Got propagation in an ECT on the depth hoar on a northeast aspect near treeline.
