Tried to ski Pulpit Knobs, aiming for #4. Braved the river crossing to be rewarded with… nothing. HS is very shallow, avg 50cm at best in treeline; skinning is wallowy over many shrubs and alders. Alpine-like areas under the headwall looked temptingly soft, but travel in and out of treeline is extremely poor. We ended up turning around partway through the bottom of the path. A quick HW and density revealed 250mm of water in the river, very pleasant on the early season hot toesies. Temps floated around -5 most of the day.
