Gin peak report: Not great right now, the hanging lake trail is really bare. We boot packed and skinned only because we were stubborn. Creek open almost to the boulder field. Dug a pit at 1326m at the base of the boulder field, north west facing aspect. 30cm deep release on 3rd hard arm hit. Grainy snow on fracture surface. Hardness increased top to bottom, fist hardness to 4 finger hardness around 1m deep. Surface hoar forming on our way out. Heard from others that above the lake was nice. 1 pole casualty. Merry Christmas!
