AST 1 class checking out Lost Boys area. At 1800M, east aspect snow depth was 165cm. Found a fairly stable snowpack with 3 hard, resistant planer shears down 30, 40 & 60cm all on graupel. No crust found in lower snowpack. Observed 2mm surface hoar on top. Great day of learning with a few good turns.
