Oscar the Grouch Peak

Fueled by large amounts of coffee energy drinks we went ski touring in the rain today near Oscar Peak. The snow in the trees is a mixture of frozen tree bombs and a breakable crust... pretty much unskiable. In the cut blocks there is slush over a firmer crust which was acceptable skiing. We estimate the freezing level was around 1100m. We didn’t make it out of the treeline today for fear of hurting ourselves. We didn't see any avalanches but visibility was poor due to low cloud and fog.
