The big Y loop to fantail

We did the big loop up the big Y and out the fantail flats and skied some of the terrain along the way looking for sheltered preserved snow. We did find little pockets here and there, but no large areas of preserved snow. We still found some hollow sounding snow but nothing that would crack or break while up tracking or skiing. Large pieces of terrain felt connected by hard surfaces and we tried to link up small pieces of terrain with low consequence and spaced out when the terrain felt bigger. Winds in the highway corridor were strong but light in the side valleys. -8 and high overcast
