Emerald Slide Path

The low avalanche forecast lead to a busy day on the slide path. We also experienced a fairly dramatic inversion today. The snow was stable in the top bowl with no signs of instability. Caution was had on the saddle where large cornices overhung the edge. The biggest risk management of the day was being aware of the other groups in the area and being aware as to where they were skiing. Bellow the bench, snow quality reduced quickly. Old avi debris plus the continuous moguls made for tougher than usual descent back to the lake.
