Stayed at Red Cabin between Jan 27 and Feb 1st. We saw tones of different conditions from start to finish. Rain to ridge top on the 28th and a freeze overnight made for very challenging ski conditions. The 31st was very good spring-style skiing with warm temps softening the surface crust. Few signs of instability where we were skiing as the moist upper snowpack seemed to have fused to the crust down 20-40. Evidence of several wet loose up to size 1.5 on solar aspects, and small cornice releases. As we were skiing out today we saw what looked to be a glide avalanche size 1.5 at treeline on a western aspect below treeline, and we noticed several other glide cracks throughout the week. The trail out has bare patches starting at about 1300m. There was lots of skis on and off and walking on bare ground to be done!
