Weather

BTL/NTL temps in the 20’s, felt warm when the sun came out periodically. Moderate W winds increasing in the PM. ATL strong west wind with intense blowing snow.

Snowpack

95 cm storm snow sits on top of 80-120cm snowpack previous to 2/6. New snow was upside-down and produced fast planar failures 30cm down from the surface.

Avalanche

We observed two natural hard slab avalanches in cross loaded gullies. R4/D2. North facing terrain near treeline elevation. Hard to say if they broke into old Snow or not. Crowns were 1-2m deep. Likely from 2/7.
