Snowpack

Generally, the snowpack was weak and around 20 to 40cm deep. Ski penetration was mostly to the ground. On a steep, northerly slope, the snow was faceted almost top to bottom with just enough old snow at the surface to provide a super soft slab that is quickly faceting away. The one area I found a firmer slab near treeline was specifically targeted to be more representative of ATL areas. This area showed how reactive the snow has the potential to be where there is a facet weak, layer and crust combo.
