Cold. Intermittent snow, clouds lifting in the afternoon. S1 and brief periods of S2. Light Southerly winds that got moderate at ridgetop. Moderate blowing snow on ridgetop.
Snowpack
4-6 inches of storm snow BTL. Pit dug on E-facing 38 degree slope at 10,800 ft had HS 70 cm. CTE 3 SC and CTE 4 SC on new/old snow interface. ECTX x 2. Generally unsupportive pack BTL. Things got much more interesting near and above treeline. Generally 1 foot of storm snow with drifts up to 3 ft. Monstrous rumbling collapses on south-facing slopes (micro aspects of SE nearby) with cracks reaching out around 200 ft. No evidence of slabbing in new snow, areas near ridgetop either had a windcrust or were windscoured.
