Mostly sunny, windy with gusts up to 25+ blowing diagonally up path into forest from Southeast (rotor/turbulence from stronger winds aloft). Trace of new snow. 10,400’ NE aspect Strong wind blowing from the open slide path into the forest and finding pencil and finger hard slab over 100 feet into the forest is reminding me to really plan for bigger margins even below tree line with this season’s very poor snow structure.

Snowpack

HS 125cm 15cm settled powder. Fist 40cm finger to pencil 3cm four finger 12-30cm of 1 cm Basel facets CT-12, ECTP-14 Strong wind blowing from the open slide path into the forest and finding pencil and finger hard slab over 100 feet into the forest is reminding me to really plan for bigger margins even below tree line with this season’s very poor snow structure.
