Weather

Changeable springtime weather with times of sun and warm-feeling temps to obscured skies, snow squalls and colder-feeling weather. Snow squalls did not amount to any accumulation. Winds were light at all elevations with no visible snow transport. Westerly winds picked up late afternoon and snow plumes were visible off of the high peaks from the highway.

Snowpack

No signs of instability observed. Variable snow surfaces with many scoured surfaces even on easterly slopes. Due north and even northwest held 6 inches of dry recent snow with deeper drifts. Very small loose wet sluffs were able to be intitiated by pushing below treeline in late afternoon. Otherwise no signs of wet activity even in steep rocky areas.
