-Below tree line between 8,800 and 10,300, north to northwest.

Avalanche

Yesterday we saw evidence of avalanches on all elevations and aspects, tons of collapsing, shooting cracks, and whoumfing. In every pit I dug the snowpack was failing pretty much upon isolation on a melt/freeze layer below a dust layer with the the 20 or so inches of storm slab on top. Generally pretty heads up and spooky. It will be interesting to see what happens when when the storm slab stiffens
