Weather

Winds were light to moderate with no snow transport noted anywhere. Clear skies

Snowpack

There was no wind loading today. Breezes at ridgetop kept things cool. Snow was moist on southerly-facing slopes above treeline. but no rollerballs observed. We didn't find a good steep test slope to see if the moist snow would move.--- We also dug on a more protected northeast-facing slope, without recent loading, and found a cohesive 60 cm slab on top of the FCsf. Hard results in ECT. Looked similar to what I saw near Ashcroft in the Aspen yesterday but slab not as thick.

Avalanche

Info from Mt Peck avalanche that caught two people on March 10 - Crown was 3 to 5 ft deep. It broke on the FCsf that were buried in February. The avalanche gouged deeper in places especially where it was very steep and rocky. The start zone is 40 degrees in steepness
