Weather
Couloir mostly sunhit throughout by 0630, weak freeze overnight, temperatures warmed quickly. Mostly sunny with intermittent passing cloud cover
Snowpack
Probably about 5 inches of new snow from the last snowstorm below treeline, lots of wind transported snow in the couloir. The new snow bonded well to the base, about a 2-3 inch crust on the apron, and more homogenous as elevation increased. Pretty heavy snow throughout, either came down wet or already started to corn with the weak freeze/warm temps. Snow warmed quickly, snow being spit out from the surrounding cliffs/rocks went from dry and bouncing down the slope to rollerballing by 0830.
Avalanche
No significant slides in the couloir. Evidence of small wet loose slides on slopes of all aspects around emerald lake.
