Spent Jan 2 and 3rd skiing in the pass. We stuck to Bostock parking and headed up to Christina trees. Follow an old ski track to the top and enjoyed great powder turns right down to the creek. No signs of instabilities while climbing or descending. -7 all day no wind Sunny. The next day we headed up McGill shoulder. Thin and crusty from summer trail to about 1600m where it starts to get deeper. Surface hoar formation from 1600m-2000m. Skied main chute (lookers left). Found boot top powder turns back down to 1600m where it turned into survival skiing back to the summer trail. Lots of tracks in both chutes. -5 cloudy all day. Little to no wind. Only signs of avalanches were far off in the distance south of steep rocky faces. Loose dry sz1.
