A week late but since we haven't had another major weather event, I believe conditions are probably still similar. Went into Peyto hut on Sat. Feb.17th with the traditional double creek crossing. Stayed on the treed bench to access the moraine and final 50m required ski crampons. The lower glacier has glacier depth poles which can help in poor visibility. Cold and Windy on Sun. Feb.18th. One girl had to be evacuated once she reached Bow hut with half of both her feet solid black from severe frostbites. Something to bear in mind when temperatures are close to -40 with the wind chill. The glacier had over 320cm of coverage and got wind hammered since the last storm. Ski penetration 1-2 cm and everything looks well covered and bridged. Ridges in the high alpine are bare bone. Exit down Bow canyon is a nice luge track. No signs of recent avalanche activity up high on the Wapta.
