Went up to climb the Ziggy Stardust with Ferrethawk as a backup if things got windy as we were uncertain of the avalanche hazard above Ziggy. Ended up being windy enough to keep us from starting on Ziggy but after getting a better feel for the snowpack up high (quite windpacked with no slabby characteristics) and seeing only intermittent wind transport and small spindrift we decided to do Ziggy as well. Definitely enough snow to create large avalanches but we felt certain enough that risk was low at the moment. Wouldn't want to be up there with the sun baking the overhead the next few days.
