Rode Fraser Ridge on Friday and Sunday. About 20-30 (depending on wind loading) of new snow since Friday. Unsupported features (rolls, big rocks and steeper drops) released small slabs remotely and via skiing, jumping about 40cms down to the wind crust. It warmed up during the day, and it snowed the entire time we were out there. Temps were about minus 2, calm winds, so we all suspect the slab was forming with the increasing rise in temperature. Amazing skiing out there. But one has to stay away from steep slopes, and terrain traps and overhead hazard as the storm continues to roll over the white pass area. There is up to a meter of snow expected within the next 48 hours, I suspect the avalanche danger will heighten significantly during that time and after the storm. Have fun, but be smart out there.. Live to Ski Another Day!
