Weather
Pleasant fall afternoon with light winds and mild temperatures. This was the first day of significant warming in the North San Juan since last weekend's storm. Temperatures reached into the 30's up to 11,500'.
Snowpack
The high peaks around Telluride and Ophir did pretty well with last weekend's storm, and coverage is similar to the area around Red Mountain Pass. Heading south from Ophir, snow amounts dropped off rapidly. Paths near the top of Lizard Head Pass and down toward Rico had only 2-4" of snow left in them, and some were starting to melt out completely. Shady north and east-facing terrain around Waterpipe and on San Bernardo Mountain had good coverage well down below treeline, suggesting that the Peterson and Yellow Springs Gully paths might be holding snow in the shady start zones and tracks.
