Weather

Intermittent light snow showers, mild temperatures, and strong southerly wind near and above treeline.

Snowpack

By 4:00pm only a trace of new snow has fallen near 550 in the Ophir pass area. Strong southerly winds were lightly moving snow, mostly because there is little left to move as winds were strong. The snow remains dry on north facing slopes, but a curst was observed on other aspects specially on open slopes affected by the sun and slopes at lower elevations. The dust that accompanied the snow from earlier in the week was very visible on the surface and in the top 10cms of the snowpack. Wind drifted pockets of snow were isolated. No cracking or collapsing.

Avalanche
