Nice day in Rocky Mountain. Clear skies lots of sun and no wind. Snow was beginning to get moist after 1PM.

Snowpack

We traveled on south, southeast, east, and northeast-facing slopes near and below treeline. Most below treeline slopes were over 150 centimeters deep. The sun and warm temperatures last week had clearly built strong crusts in the top 10 to 30 centimeters of the snowpack. Mid pack slabs were hard. You can still find some rounding facets at the ground. The only places you can travel near and above treeline are areas where the snow has been previously drifted. man other slopes are bare. The snow depth in the near reeline elevation band in these deeper previously drifted areas is about 250 centimeters. The mid-pack slabs are thick and solid.
