Skied to the summit via the trees on the NE side. Below treeline the surface snowpack was rather wet. Widespread in any open areas from below treeline to treeline an ice crust of some sort exists. It's a cm or two thick and 5-10cm of newer snow sits on top of it. Once we reached the col of Allan brooks the ice crust was on the surface in places and any remaining snow was highly variable from hard packed wind slab to soft powdery wind slab. We skied off the summit back down to the col avoiding convex slopes as best we could. No shooting cracks or whumpfs. Took three laps from from the col down to the bottom. Snow was variable but many wonderful soft turns were had in the open trees. Three parties of 4-5 people up there, means there is not much fresh snow left for y'all.
