Weather
Sunny, cool, and breezy mid-morning, and stayed that way into the early afternoon at tree line and above tree line elevation. Winds were out of the North and moderate (10-20 mph). Did not observe any drifting on ridges or higher in the alpine.
Snowpack
Snow stayed frozen for the most part, and did not start to soften up until around mid-day on north and northeast aspects near and above tree line. As I ascended Gold Hill snow got drier and softer.
Avalanche
D1, loose wet, W/SW aspect above tree line in steep rocky terrain that probably ran yesterday (see picture). No other avalanches observed.
