Weather

16-18 inches of new snow. Snowing S1 with a small break in the clouds around noon. Moderate to strong southwest winds.

Snowpack

New snow is low-density and appears to have a mid-storm density change. This density change or rapid loading may have caused avalanches to run early in the storm and refill.

Avalanche

Second-hand parking lot conversations suggest a party triggered an avalanche on a road cut while skinning and had been buried up to their knees. While small in size D1.5 the location was above a terrain trap. Additional natural avalanche activity observed on embankments.
