Weather
Nice day. Few high clouds, calm-light NW winds, temps just below freezing.
Snowpack
On a Northeast aspect below and near treeline, I found a shallow snowpack, 30-60cm(1-2ft) deep. Snow surfaces either lack cohesion or are wind-packed. Regardless of surface hardness, the underlying snowpack is made up of weak faceted crystals that, surprisingly, gained cohesion near/at the ground.
Avalanche
Visible crown looker's right of "Cornice" just below ridgeline. It is most likely a wind slab avalanche from a natural trigger.
