Avalanche

A backcountry snowboarder triggered an avalanche while descending the east side of Marble Peak. The rider took one turn and heard his partners shout "Slide" so he kept his speed up and cut to the skier's left side of the slope out from underneath the avalanche. He then watched the avalanche travel several hundred feet until the slope angle decreased lower down in the path. His partners descended the bed surface of the avalanche and they all descended back to the trailhead safely.
